Media Monday! Allerca Cats

ALLERCA Hypoallergenic Cat - CBS Early Show

Woe is me. I remember reading about this company two years ago, and now more and more interviews keep popping up with them so I guess they're legit. This place is the answer to me getting a cat while co-habitating with an allergic lover and damn! do I want one! If you got far enough in the video or on the Web site to hear that they're roughly $4000, you'll understand why I'm undertaking "Campaign Kitty: Get Kell a Cat." Donations can be made through PayPal at right.

Update: Allerca is a scam! See comments for further info.
Update #2: Allerca is now Lifestyle Pets. Same sham. Different name.

  2. It's disheartening; that's for sure. Back around this time I emailed the company saying,

"I'm wondering what the possibility of being able to contact a current Allerca pet owner in my area would be...or even if I could give my contact info and have the owner contact me. The allergic one of us is a 'seeing is believing' kind of person despite the tests that you send to a household before receiving the kitten."

    And I received this response:

"Thank you for your interest in ALLERCA.

We are certain that you can appreciate that for the welfare of both our customers, and our kittens, our client list needs to remain strictly confidential.

It is possible that some of our customers may post blogs once they receive their kittens (delivery scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2007) so that would be our only suggestion as to how you may contact a local customer directly.

I thought I had one more email in the inbox with a similarly vague response that succeeded in saying nothing so of late I've had some waryness. This news pretty much seals the deal. Man...
